Understanding and producing Portuguese vowels: The case of English vs. Spanish listeners
I am interested in exploring under what circumstances learners achieve more success in learning L2 sound categories. In particular, I am interested in comparing Spanish and English listeners' perception of Brazilian Portuguese vowels.
I will also explore perception vs. word recognition, word learning and production to see if there is a direct relation between perception and these abilities.
