Research Media and Communications Officer
Danielle commenced as the MARCS Media and Communications Officer in September, 2018. She is a member of the Media & Public Relations team and works from our Penrith and Bankstown campuses.
Danielle comes from a career at NSW Ambulance, having served 13 years of service. She has worked as an Emergency Medical Dispatcher in the Sydney Ambulance Triple Zero (000) Control Centre, as well as in communications and media relations roles. Danielle is completing a Bachelor of Media (Communications and Journalism) at UNSW, and has also completed media internships at Network Ten, MTV Australia, and Luxury Travel Magazine.
Most recently, Danielle has worked in a fixed term position as the Research Media and Communications Officer for the Institute for Culture and Society at Western Sydney University. In this role, she has supported ICS researchers in building a media profile and disseminating their research via a range of mainstream and digital media channels.
The Research Media and Communications Officer is part of the Media Unit within the Office of Marketing and Communication. The role assists the Media and Public Relations (PR) team with designing, implementing and evaluating innovative media strategies and identifying media opportunities for the University. The Research Media Officer contributes to the broader media and public relations strategy for the University, and makes a strong contribution to helping shape the University’s external image and public perceptions among its many stakeholder groups.
