Aviation career over 35 years specialising in training ,management, audit and human factors. Proven record in team leadership. Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society. Proven record in establishing relationships with aviation regulator and ability to lead and collaborate in complex projects. Abilities in strategic thinking and change management. Strong interest in more widely educating pilot instructors beyond the normal curriculum in a diverse range of allied subjects. A narrow focus on traditional subjects will not adequately prepare training organisations for future training opportunities or challenges.
Advocate for increasing the presence of women in aviation as an active member of Women in Aviation International.
Main interest is developing training systems to suit the new millennium. Training using newer technologies, more flexible methodologies and challenging the historic and classic way of training pilots. In order to meet the growing challenge of training pilots, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality are being explored in order to supplement Full Flight Simulator training.
Moreover, integrating Emergency procedures training using EBT methodology for Cabin Crew and aligning cabin crew training and pilot training.
Flight training must be fully integrated into an airline's safety management system with the ability to measure the effectiveness of the training system. Experienced in public speaking at International and Australian events.
Exploring future technology to help train pilots. Challenging the use of the Full Flight Simulator to use it as a device to up skill pilots- training for highly technically skilled, thinking aviators.
Skilled in managing a diverse team in a changing, challenging and demanding environment.
Strong advocate for collaboration and partnerships with Universities specialising in Human Factors, Adult Learning and Aviation. Interested in other professions and disciplines that may have as yet unforeseen parallels in aviation.
