Join us at the next MRM with invited speaker Associate Professor Mayuresh Korgaonkar, School of Health Sciences Faculty of Medicine and Health, The University of Sydney. A/Prof Korgaonkar is also Research Director, Brain Dynamics Centre, The Westmead Institute for Medical Research, and he will discuss 'Brain Connectomes: A new paradigm for addressing mood and anxiety disorders.'

Magnetic resonance imaging has significantly advanced our understanding of the human brain and, importantly, the psychopathology of mental disorders. However, neuroimaging is yet to establish a clinically helpful tool in treating psychiatric disorders. Could neuroimaging ultimately be used to personalise medicine in psychiatry?

This talk aims to give an insight into my research program in neuroimaging connectomics to study neural circuits underlying mood and anxiety disorders. This framework can help understand disease and treatment mechanisms, guide treatment choices, and inform novel treatment interventions. Ultimately the goal of my research is to advance neuroimaging for personalised care in psychiatry.
