Weicong has broad interests in music acoustics, signal processing, speech analysis and developing analysis tools for speech research.

Research Project

Language corpus studies are important parts of speech and language research. Currently we are building a corpus of Kriol, a daily language used by more than 20,000 Indigenous people in northern Australia. We aim to improve analysis techniques for corpus studies by integrating tools and simplifying workflow,  developing tools for data cleaning, acoustics analysis and data visualisation, applying machine learning tools for speech recognition, etc. The corpus will be available for other researchers soon.
