Biography

Ms Kate Richards is the Academic Course Advisor for the Master of Convergent Media in the Western Sydney University School of Humanities and Communication Arts.

She was previously a freelance multimedia producer in the cultural and media sectors, producing interactive and large scale media for exhibition and distribution. Prior to that she taught communcations at UTS (1996-1999) and media art at COFA, UNSW (1987-1996).

Ms Richards is completing her practice-led PhD on the foundations of audience engagement in immersive media environments. She is an internationally recognized media artist working across installations, performance, interactive video and software art.

Ms Richards serves on the technical committee for the Dictionary of Sydney and consults with numerous organisations and theatre directors on the use of interactive multimedia across diverse projects.
