Student Compliance

Congratulations on commencing your course at Western Sydney University!

As a student in a health-related degree we will prepare you to do great things in the workplace via the placement component of your program.

Who requires NSW Health Student Compliance?

The following information is for all students undertaking a placement in NSW Health facilities ONLY. To be able to participate in a NSW Health placement, you must be assessed as compliant with NSW Health policy.

What does that mean?

You need to be assessed through a process known as ‘Student Compliance’. It is a mandatory, legislative and regulatory requirement, and you cannot attend a placement without it. Failure to meet Student Compliance requirements could result in you being denied entry to a NSW Health facility and may jeopardise your progression in the associated unit.

Why?

Western and our placement partners have a duty of care to ensure your safety, and the safety of the people you will interact with. It is each student’s responsibility to complete all student compliance requirements and provide evidence of compliance as part of the NSW Health verification process prior to attending fieldwork, research or clinical placement in a NSW Health Facility.
