Antilogarithms

An antilogarithm (antilog) is the number corresponding to a given logarithm. For example, the log of 100 is 2; therefore 100 is the antilog of 2.

The simplest way to find out an antilog is to use the calculator. On many scientific calculators, the antilog key is the second function of the 'log key', but it is best to check your calculator's instruction manual. The antilogarithm for base 10 and base e are usually denoted by 10x and ex on most calculators.

If we wanted to find out the antilog of 2.5 we would do the following:

Step 1- Type in 2.5

Step 2- Press the 2nd function on your calculator

Step 3- Press 'log'

Step 4- The answer 316.227766 should appear
