Innovation in Digital Education
The University provides both central and discipline-based support for developing digital learning methods – in a 'hub and spoke' arrangement. The central Blended Learning team looks after university-wide initiatives, such as introducing and supporting new digital learning tools and vUWS. The School-based Blended Learning Advisors and Designers (BLADEs) provide specialist support for use of digital technologies within the curriculum – working closely with academic and professional colleagues as part of discipline-based teams. Teaching staff who need help with any aspect of digital learning can reach out to their local School BLADEs. The central team are available to help assess learning environments and provide feedback, and in 2017 a new quality framework will be launched replacing the Basic and Advanced Standards.
Western Sydney University Online (opens in a new window) offers courses in eight different disciplines with exciting new programs being developed for 2017.
