21C Culture works toward recognising, sharing and celebrating diverse learning and teaching practices acknowledging that cultural transformation takes time. In 2020, the focus will be on two initial strategies:
Towards a Western Teaching Academy Leveraging the networks, communities and achievements from the activities in 21C Curriculum and 21C Academic Capability.
Teaching Cultures Survey The Teaching Cultures Survey (TCS) is a key component of the 21C Culture stream of the 21C Project. It is an institution-wide survey, first run in Spring 2019, for all academic teaching staff. The TCS complements and enriches the MyVoice Survey results by providing more probing insights into the learning and teaching culture at Western. These insights will help transform the discourse in the learning and teaching space across the university. The first round of the TCS was run in October and November of 2019. These results will be made available in March 2020, with broad-ranging consultation on the implications of the data for a range of stakeholders, including schools and our diverse teaching cohorts. Subsequent rounds of the TCS are being planned to help drive ongoing critical dialogue.
