Fu Jen Catholic University Delegation Visit May 2026

It was a pleasure to welcome our colleagues from Fu Jen Catholic University (FJCU), Taiwan, to Western Sydney University today for one of our largest international delegation visits to date.

Led by President Professor Francis Yi-Chen Lan, the delegation brought together senior leaders and academics from across FJCU's Colleges of Education, Human Ecology, Science and Engineering, and International Education. Their visit reflected the strength of the growing partnership between our institutions and our shared commitment to global engagement, innovation, and student success.

It was especially wonderful to welcome Professor Lan back to Western. As our former colleague, it was clear from the many warm reunions just how highly regarded he remains across our University community.

The visit featured highly productive discussions across a broad range of disciplines, and we were delighted to mark another milestone in our partnership through the signing of a Dual Award Memorandum of Understanding, creating exciting new opportunities for future research collaboration and student pathways.

A special thank you to Professor Deborah Sweeney for kindly hosting the delegation and facilitating such meaningful discussions. We are also grateful to the many Western Sydney University academics and professional staff who contributed their expertise and enthusiasm throughout the visit.

This visit further strengthens an already successful relationship with FJCU and opens the door to new opportunities for collaborative research, student mobility, academic exchange, and transnational education initiatives.

We look forward to continuing our work together and building on the strong foundations established over many years.
