The University maintains formal agreements with many strategically important institutions and organisations across the globe, forming an extensive network of partnerships that foster meaningful global engagement. These relationships enable us to collaborate widely and effectively in addressing contemporary challenges and opportunities.
Our Global Partnership Agreements formalise cooperation across a broad range of activities, including research and scholarship, transnational education, student mobility, training, capacity building, professional development, and clinical placements.

Global Agreement Types
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), Letter of Intent (LOI)
Non-binding in nature, these can be between two or more parties to document a commitment to explore or to progress an agreed range of opportunities.
Articulation Agreement (AA)
Sets out the terms and conditions under which Western Sydney University will recognise a prescribed body of study by a student at the partner institution for entry into a Western Sydney University degree with credit or advanced standing. The agreement will specify units and length of study required at the home institution and units and length of time required at Western Sydney University.
Letter of Recognition (LOR)
Sets out the terms and conditions under which Western Sydney University will recognise a sub-degree, foundation, diploma or postgraduate qualifying program completed by a student at the partner institution for entry into the first year of a Western Sydney University degree (without credit or advanced standing).
Student Exchange Agreement (SEA)
Sets out the terms and conditions for the reciprocal exchange of students between Western Sydney University and a partner institution. Students receive credits for the study undertaken at the host institution. The partners agree to exchange an agreed number of students each year.
Study Abroad Agreement (SAA)
Sets out the terms and conditions for an arrangement between the University and a partner to allow students from either institution to undertake a period of study at the other.
Staff/Faculty Exchange Agreement (SFEA)
Sets out the terms and conditions under which academic and professional staff of the University and a partner can undertake a specific period of time at the other institution to undertake research, teaching or other agreed activities or projects.
Third Party Provider Agreements (TPPA)
Sets out terms and conditions for the delivery by a third party of a Western Sydney University program or a pathways program on behalf of the University. A TPP arrangement is usually, but not always, a commercial arrangement with a negotiated revenue distribution model between the University and the third party. Current examples of TPP arrangements include those with Online Education Services (WSU Online), The College, International College, Sydney City Campus, Hong Kong Baptist University and UEH. Students who undertake a program through a third-party provider are considered a WSU student
