Starting at university is exciting. Starting your study in another country is exceptional. The Western Sydney International Orientation program will help you in your transition to university and to a new chapter of your life: a new environment, a new culture, and a new way of learning.
International orientation for February and July intake programs
This program is for new international students commencing in Autumn and Spring sessions. The International Orientation Day takes place 10 days before classes commence and is followed by University-wide orientation activities, attended by both International and local students.
Orientation is compulsory for all international students. However, if you have missed orientation due to unforseen circumstances, Student Central is your first point of contact to help you get started at uni. You should also visit the Getting started website.

Step 1: Attend Orientation Preparation Day

12:30pm to 4pm
Building EA, LG (Lower Ground Level), Room 29, Parramatta campus
This day caters for students who need to accept their offer, pay fees or submit transcripts. Students from The College and TAFE NSW are especially encouraged to attend the orientation preparation day to finalise their admission.

Before each session begins, international students are invited to attend an Orientation Day that helps new students transition to university life. The day will give students an opportunity to seek assistance in completing their enrolment, learning more about Western Sydney University and its services and ask any questions about what to expect while studying at the University.
International Orientation Day is also a day to explore what the University has to offer, meet other new international students and enjoy a free lunch and entertainment!
Come along on the day - you may even see a koala!
What to Bring to Orientation Day
On the day, please bring the following:
- Your passport.
- Copy of both pages of the most recent offer letter issued to you.
- Copy of your electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE).
- ALL relevant original certificates and transcripts from previous courses AND one set of photocopies of these documents (required for Provisional and Conditional Offers).
- Tuition fee payment (ONLY if making payment on the day). Credit card or cheque accepted only, do not bring cash.
If you are living on (or close to) any Western Sydney University campus, a shuttle service will be available from your home campus to Orientation Day at Parramatta campus. Use the online transport to orientation form to reserve your place.
If you'll be travelling to Orientation via public transport, a free shuttle bus will be available between Parramatta train station and Parramatta campus at the following times:
- Parramatta train station to Parramatta campus: 8am - 10am
- Parramatta campus to Parramatta train station: 2pm - 5pm
Step 3: Attend My Course Planning Session (MCP)
At your My Course Planning Session you will receive assistance in selecting units for study to help you enrol in your course.
My Course Planning sessions for international students will be held on Orientation Day. However, if you are an international student currently living in Australia, you are encouraged to attend the MCP sessions offered to local students.
Step 4: Complete Enrolment
If you have full offer, you can enrol online via MySR. Follow the enrolment steps for international students.
If you have a conditional offer, you need to satisfy all English and Academic requirements before enrolling online via MySR. Please supply evidence of meeting conditions as outlined in your Conditional Offer of Admission letter to Apply@WesternSydney.edu.au or attend the Orientation Preparation Day to receive a full offer to enable you to enrol.
Step 5: Attend University-wide Course Orientation (undergraduate students only)
Week 0 activities will include course information sessions, library tours and campus tours.

Attend Academic Literacy Workshops (optional)
A free two or four day preparation workshop to help you succeed at Western Sydney University. Attend this course to familiarise yourself with the Australian university culture and receive valuable information.
