International Student of the Year Awards

Nominations for the NSW International Student Awards 2021 are now open.

At Western, we recognise that outstanding contributions that international students make to communities here and throughout NSW. We celebrate excellence in international student community engagement and take this opportunity to acknowledge our wonderful students.

This year, we want to hear from you – our students!

Tell us how you are contributing to supporting the community, or other international students. This could be through supporting other students, your local neighbourhood or your ethnic community (or more!).

We will select up to two students who will be recognised as Western Sydney University’s International Students of the Year.

The selected students will each receive a certificate and gift voucher in acknowledgement of their contributions and go on to represent Western Sydney University at the Study NSW 2021 International Student of the Year Awards.

Selection Criteria

Nominees should be an inspirational role model who can demonstrate an achievement or contribution that adds value to the community through:

  • Touching the lives of others; or
  • Participating in the community; or
  • Connecting an ethnic or language community group with the broader NSW community; or
  • Volunteering.

Your nomination will be assessed on the impact you have made on the community (this includes the University community, international student community, ethnic community and the broader NSW community).

All EOIs and supporting materials must be submitted via the nomination form.

The EOIs will go before a Selection Panel, which will select Western Sydney University’s nominees for the 2021 International Student of the Year Award.

Expressions of Interest close 11:59PM on Sunday 6 June 2021. Incomplete nominations will not be considered.

To be eligible you must:

  • Be an international student (non-resident of Australia)
  • Be a currently enrolled student at Western Sydney University; and
  • Hold a valid visa for study in Australia; and
  • Fully complete the nomination form (including providing two referees); and
  • Agree to have your nomination submitted to Study NSW, if you are successful.
