  • $5,000 per year for up to four years*
    *full-time, or part-time equivalent

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Confirmation of Identity:

  • identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and submit documentation declaring and confirming Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity.

Enrolment:

  • new student

Program/s:

  • any undergraduate degree at Western Sydney University, Foundation Studies, Diploma or Associate Degree at The College

Additional:

  • be an active participant in the Pathways to Dreaming program throughout high school, including attending opportunities provided by the program.
  • apply for any undergraduate degree at the University through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) or have applied for any undergraduate degree(s) via the WSU Application Portal by the scholarship application closing date.
  • Demonstrate academic achievement through one of the following:
    • a minimum ATAR of 65; or
    • a minimum of 65% in each of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pathway Program assessments; or
    • received a True Reward offer to course with a minimum ATAR of 65 (in previous year).
  • Completed a minimum of 50 hours community participation over 24 months preceding application (documentation to be provided and will be verified by the Scholarship panel)

Application and Selection Process

Applicants must provide a statement supporting their application indicating how they believe receiving the scholarship will assist them with their studies and future careers. This statement should give a sufficient explanation of the applicant's background and current circumstances to enable the University to judge their eligibility, need and merit. Supporting documents can also be uploaded (eg. school reports, personal references, certificates etc.).

Successful applicants will be selected based on their written application, academic potential, ability to meet the criteria, and, where appropriate, performance in an interview before a selection panel.

  • Recipients must remain enrolled at Western.
  • Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 4.0
