H & R Society Trust Scholarship
$7,500 per year for the duration of the degree
New or continuing students
Any undergraduate degree
- be Australian citizens or permanent residents
- be commencing study or currently enrolled full-time in the first year in any degree at Western Sydney University
- demonstrate financial or other hardship based on the Western Sydney University Opportunity and Equity criteria (opens in a new window) and also including students who are the first in family to attend university and those from rural areas
It is the donor's intent to encourage students from rural areas and those from Western Sydney, preference may be given to applicants from a rural area as defined by the University for one of the available scholarships.

The H & R Society Trust has been set up as a charitable trust of the Hurstville & Rockdale Friendly Society Ltd. Hurstville & Rockdale Friendly Society was established in 1913 and is a member organisation. The society’s mission is mutual aid and welfare.
The board firmly believes that education is the key to a productive society. By helping the recipients of the scholarships in their endeavours, we continue to fulfilled the action of mutual aid.
Application and Selection Process
Applicants must provide a statement in support of their application indicating how they believe the receipt of the scholarship will assist them with their studies and in their future career. This statement should give a sufficient explanation of the applicant's background and current circumstances to enable the University to judge their eligibility, need and merit.
Successful applicants will be selected based on their written application, academic potential, their ability to meet the criteria and, where appropriate, performance in an interview before a selection panel.
