Zoom Enabled Teaching Spaces (ZETS)

Welcome to ZETS!

Zoom Enabled Teaching Space (ZETS) has been designed to support HyFlex teaching at Western Sydney University (WSU). With greater Zoom capabilities and enhanced acoustics, each space is equipped with 1-2 cameras, a microphone, an updated touch panel, whiteboards and a projector.

What is HyFlex? HyFlex has components of hybrid learning in a flexible course structure, designed to support both synchronous and asynchronous teaching, where students can choose to attend class online or face-to-face.

ITDS has provisioned Zoom capability across several teaching spaces with the inclusion of camera and microphone equipment connected to the in-room lectern PC. Both Zoom or Blackboard Collaborate provides recording capabilities to help support the teaching and learning experience for all. The solution has been designed to make technology easy and familiar to use.

Along with our colleagues in Learning Futures (LFT), we have helped create guides for academic staff with some videos. Please see the right-hand menu to be taken to the Learning Futures site and our training materials.

Finding a ZETS on Campus

There are now over 50 Zoom Enabled Teaching Spaces (ZETS) positioned on a number of different campuses at Western. You can find a more detailed list of ZETS across our campuses here.
