Photo of Dr Michelle KellyAs a Research Officer, Michelle’s role covers the spectrum of operational activities relating to research projects, contract research and consultancies at ICS. Michelle also offers research support to projects and assists with research development. Michelle works with fellow ICS Research Officer Lilly Moody to provide these services for the Institute membership. Michelle also works as Senior Research Officer and Project Manager for the Australian Research Council Discovery Project ‘Australian Cultural Fields: National and Transnational Dynamics’ (DP140101970), a multi-institutional multi-year project led out of ICS.

Michelle has worked with ICS (previously the Centre for Cultural Research) in a variety of research assistant roles since 2007, including research assistant for the completed ARC Linkage project ‘The Art of Engagement: Exploring C3 West, A Contemporary Arts Project around Western Sydney’ (LP0668261). In 2012 Michelle was awarded a PhD for her thesis Library Encounters: Textuality and the Institution from the Department of English at the University of Sydney.

Responsibilities

Michelle’s responsibilities include:

  • Provision of project management and financial advice for individual research projects
  • Administrative support for Research Director and Research Committee
  • Assistance with research development activities, including information on funding opportunities and development of funding applications
  • Assistance with research program activities and reporting
  • Administration of Human Ethics applications
  • Assistance with research projects under the direction of Principal Researchers.
