Terry Fairclough

Terry Fairclough with trees in the background.Terry Fairclough joined ICS as Institute Manager in January 2013. Terry grew up in Tauranga, New Zealand and has been living in Sydney for over 20 years. He has an MA in Geography from the University of British Columbia and a Certificate IV in Human Resources Management through the Australian Federation of Employers and Industry (AFEI).

Terry has a background of work in government and NGOs, including Senior Private Secretary to the New Zealand Minister of Tourism; New Zealand Consul, Sydney (NSW and QLD); Personal Assistant to two City of Sydney councillors; Sydney Office Manager for Oxfam Australia; and Business Services Unit Manager at the Australasian Society for HIV Medicine (ASHM). Prior to his move to ICS, Terry was Centre Manager for the National Centre in HIV Social Research (NCHSR) at the University of New South Wales.


Terry's responsibilities include:

  • Budget management and forecasting
  • Strategic management and planning
  • High-level policy advice
  • Oversight of ICS event management
  • Executive Committee membership.
