Prof. Deborah Stevenson has been elected a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia

Deb_StevensonProfessor Deborah Stevenson from the Institute of Culture and Society has been elected a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia (ASSA).

The Academy, established in 1971, promotes excellence and encourages outstanding achievement in the social sciences in Australia. Fellows are elected by their peers for their distinguished achievements and exceptional contributions made to the social sciences across 18 disciplines.

Deborah, who is in the discipline of Sociology and Urban Cultural Research, joins four other ICS members in ASSA – Professors David Rowe (Sociology), Kay Anderson (Geography), Katherine Gibson (Geography) and Tim Rowse (History).

Deborah is an editor of the Journal of Sociology and the Journal of Policy Research in Tourism, Leisure and Events and a member of the editorial boards of leading journals, including the International Journal of Cultural Policy.
