Review: Knowledge / Culture / Economy International Conference
140 leading academics, policy makers and industry heads gathered at the University of Western Sydney on 3-5 November for ICS's Knowledge / Culture / Economy International Conference.
The conference hosted national and international speakers assessing the shifting roles of knowledge, culture and economy in contemporary and historical scenarios of globalisation, production, consumption, expenditure, crisis, governance, technological change and reckonings with nature. The conference focused on five particular themes: Asia Pacific cultural economies, cultures of finance, economic diversity, digital life, and fragile environments.

- Aihwa Ong, Professor of Socio-cultural Anthropology and Asian studies at the University of California, Berkeley
- Professor Timothy Mitchell, Professor of Political Theory and History at Columbia University
- Chris Gibson, Professor of Human Geography at the University of Wollongong
- Katherine Gibson, Professorial Research Fellow in the Institute of Culture and Society at the University of Western Sydney.
