Position Overview

Research assistant under the supervision of Dr. Saeed Afshar working on developing machine learning models for automated reading assessment and intervention.

Responsibilities

Developing and training foundational speech models(Wav2Vec, HuBERT, Whisper etc.) and building new neural network architectures targeting speech applications. Working on the mathematics and programming side of development taking inspiration from biology and artificial speech systems.

Qualifications

Masters degree in Mathematics with a Minor degree in Physics.
