Parramatta CBD

Parramatta is the historic heart of Sydney's west, a dynamic city that features beautiful parks and colonial sites as well as world-class food, arts and entertainment.

As the second largest CBD in Sydney, you can enjoy a day's shopping, immerse yourself in the busy arts scene or explore the city's fascinating past.

A scenic route to Parramatta is by Rivercat from Circular Quay[1], near the Sydney Opera House[2]. You'll glide under the Sydney Harbour Bridge[3] and down the estuary of the Parramatta River. From there you can walk or cycle along the Parramatta River foreshore to Parramatta Park[4], or have a swim, picnic or bushwalk at Lake Parramatta Reserve[5].

Parramatta's 'Eat Streets' offer a thriving choice of international restaurants from Greek, Italian and Lebanese to Cuban or Japanese. World-class chef Jamie Oliver brings rustic Italian fare to the table with Jamie's Italian Trattoria[6], while foodie faves such as the Bourke Street Bakery[7] and The Emporium[8] have also made Parramatta their new home. The city's multicultural mix is also celebrated with Parramasala[9] – an annual gala of parades, parties, exotic bazaars and food stalls.
