My Body and Soul bottle decoration series

When the pandemic hit the world, the feeling of depression set in. But solation at home re-started my interest in the colour of vegetables, fruits and wine. Finding new inspirations in the colours of daily items, I started painting on empty bottles. The colourful fruits and vegetables are gifts from mother nature. I hope my artistic transformations can be seen as the most natural way to heal our bodies and souls.

Stream of Life installation series, knitting and textiles, pyrography  on wood boards, installation of 60 pieces.

This work comes from my fascination with new lives. I often imagined how a new life came into being and how this new life evolved in the dark womb. In my mind, new lives are like stars in the universe. Life is a huge gift and it is composed of a journey of surprises and adventures. In this series, I have expressed my fascination and reverie. In the stream of life, light and warmth are vital.

Pyrography (wood burning) is a unique traditional form of Chinese arts and it is also called “embroidery with fire needle”. I have experimented with the use of a new electric tool in this traditional technique of creation. My intention is to use ordinary methods like wood burning and knitting to create a surprising view of lives.
