Australia-China Institute for Arts and Culture (ACIAC) of Western Sydney University (WSU) is going to host the book launch for Professor Li Yao's ten-volume translation of Australian literature. Professor Li is one of China’s best-known translators of Australian writing and his translated Australian authors include Alex Miller, Alexis Wright, Brian Castro, Colleen McCullough, Nicholas Jose, Patrick White, Thomas Keneally, etc.
Before the launch, we have invited a panel to speak in a Public Conversation on “Australian Literature in China”. The speakers on the panel are Professor Li Yao, Professor Gail Jones (Writing and Society Research Centre, WSU), WSU Adjunct Professor Nicholas Jose, Professor Zhang Jian (Dean of School of English and International Studies, Beijing Foreign Studies University) and Mr Li Jianjun (Director of Australian Studies Centre, Beijing Foreign Studies University). ACIAC Director Professor Labao Wang will be the moderator of the Public Conversation.
