Music and Spirituality, our much anticipated online symposium (13 to 14 September) was a great success involving 19 universities from around the world with presentations from Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, Iran, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Malta, North America and the United Kingdom. Two quotes sum up the central themes of the Symposium: “We can travel to God by bus or foot, but the quickest way is through music” (Dr Banu Şenay, University of Macquarie) and “When it comes to love, there is no border” (Dr Polina Dessiatnitchenko, Waseda University). We will upload the video of the Symposium with a link that will be sent out to you. In the meantime, please enjoy Shy Like Blushing Flowers: "Strange Invisible Perfume", composed by Associate Professor Bruce Crossman ( at 30:40) and the innovative performance of Monkey King Concerto—Movement I for sheng 笙(Chinese mouth-blown reed instrument) and orchestra with soloist Dr Wang Zhengting from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (
