Enterprise Bargaining

In 2021 the University will commence the next round of Enterprise Bargaining, as the current agreements, the Academic Staff Agreement 2017 - 2021 and the Professional Staff Agreement 2017 - 2021, reach their nominal expiry dates on 30 June 2021.

The University negotiates its Enterprise Agreements with employees and their bargaining representatives, consistent with the requirements of the Fair Work Act 2009. Employees have the right to represent themselves or nominate a bargaining representative to participate in the negotiations on their behalf.

There are two staff Unions at Western Sydney University – the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) and the Community and Public Sector Union (CPSU).  These Unions are the default bargaining representative of their members who are employees of WSU.

Each Enterprise Agreement stays in force until it is replaced by a new Agreement.  This ensures the continuing operation of negotiated labour rights and the rights of Unions to represent members in regard to matters pertaining to their employment.

Information about the Enterprise Bargaining process is outlined in the Enterprise Bargaining Flyer.
