Run every fortnight, we will be joined by a variety of speakers over the next few months, who will share with us their career story, education, work experience and challenges that helped them land their current position. Speakers will also share tips and advice for seeking and applying for job opportunities.

The WiSE Talks is exclusive to WiSE Program students.  Though students from any STEM discipline are encouraged to attend all sessions of interest as speakers share their insights and advice. Often, we may not be aware of the variety of opportunities available in different industries.

We invite you to join our first WiSE Talk which will kick off with our guest speaker Samo Kobti (Sleep Laboratory Manager - Canberra Sleep Clinic) from the Science Industry. Samo graduated with a Bachelor of Medical Science (Anatomy and Physiology) from Western Sydney University. She commenced her career as a Respiratory Scientist Intern in 2015 after applying for the Jobs off Campus position via CareerHub. She later progressed to work at Westmead and Liverpool hospitals as well as Bella Vista private clinic as both a Respiratory Scientist and Sleep Technician. Samo also delivered the unit Anatomy and Physiology at Western and completed further studies at the University of Sydney.
