Description

Stem Cell Reproductive Technologies Challenges and Opportunities Medical research promises new therapies for a range of conditions. At the same time, globalisation, direct-to-consumer marketing, and socio-economic factors influence public attitudes towards medical research and raise highly complex legal, ethical and social justice questions. The speakers in our public seminar will address the science of stem cells and regenerative medicine and the role that law plays regulating, facilitating, and sometimes prohibiting, particular aspects of medical research and patient treatment. We invite the public, members of the legal and medical professions and the staff and students of Western Sydney University to discuss the potential and some of the challenges of regulating medical research and clinical practice in a globalised world.

Speakers: Dr O'Connor, Dr Foong & Dr Limon
