- Mars at Opposition We will take advantage of passing closer to Mars as Earth overtakes Mars in its orbit around the Sun, with a special night featuring the fascinating red planet. The planet Mars has fired human imagination since we started looking at it through a telescope. What have the latest missions discovered? Are we really going to start a colony on Mars? Includes presentation, short 3D movie, tour of the dome and viewing of the night sky through a range of telescopes (weather permitting). Cost for Public Astronomy Nights: $18.00 Adult $12.00 Child/Concession $50.00 Family (2 adults + 2 children), children under 3 years of age free. Important: Parents/Carers are responsible for and must remain with their children at all times. Current Western Sydney University staff, students and Alumni are entitled to a Concession ticket (remember to bring your staff/student ID or Alumni card with you when you attend).
