- Welcome our new students by volunteering as a mentor for MATES. MATES is a mentoring program. We're looking for experienced students who would like to mentor our first year students start strong at Western Sydney University. As a volunteer you will connect with mentor new students by meeting up to discuss getting started as well as connecting via the MATES Facebook group, weekly emails and competitions, online forums and MATES events. Mentors receive training and guidance on the sorts of topics to cover with their groups. To find out more and register please visit our website below.
