Ideas 2170 brings together transport visionaries and leaders in urban planning to discuss a topic vital to the future of Western Sydney. The next event in the series will be ‘The future is (nearly) now: Transport in the 21st Century’. Artificial intelligence and its impact on everyday life continues to intrigue and inspire. What will the future of transport look like? How can advanced technologies improve our transport systems and how will they affect city planning? Clare Gardiner-Barnes, Deputy Secretary Freight, Strategy and Planning at Transport for NSW will be leading the forum, together with a panel of experts – Dr Tim Williams, Australasia Cities Leader at Arup and Adjunct Professor at Western Sydney University; Andrew Chapman, Director of Operations NSW at Australian Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, and; Professor Donald McNeill from Western Sydney University’s Institute for Culture and Society. Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Associate Professor Awais Piracha from the School of Social Sciences & Psychology. Members of the audience will also have the chance to ask questions.
