Western Sydney University and Maridulu Budyari Gamal (SPHERE) are offering three FREE practical and interactive workshops on how people experiencing memory loss. These workshops are ideal for any families, health professionals, care staff, students, and organisations supporting or interacting with people experiencing memory loss or dementia.
This initiative was co-produced by people with lived and caring experiences of dementia and representatives from local services. The workshops will cover 3 key themes:
- Workshop 1 – 1 September 2023 – Understanding the brain and memory – Explores the causes of memory loss and how to manage it.
- Workshop 2 – 4 October 2023 – Accessibility and enablement – Teaches people how to create safer and enabling places and spaces.
- Workshop 3 – 1 November 2023 –Acceptance and belonging – Focuses on embracing and supporting people with diverse needs.
All of these workshops will start at 10am and run until 12pm at NICM HRI, 158 Hawkesbury Road, Westmead.
Free refreshments will be provided at each workshop. Bookings are essential via the link below.
