I'd like to draw your attention to an upcoming symposium ‘The politicisation of seeking asylum: Manus Prison theory and Australia’s response to asylum seekers’. The symposium is convened by Dr Rachel Sharples and Prof Linda Briskman in the School of Social Sciences. There is an exciting line-up of speakers, including: Behrouz Boochani, Omid Tofighian, Alison Mountz, Claire Loughnan, Anne McNevin, Maria Giannacopoulos, Andrew Burridge and Julie Macken. Flyer is attached. All are welcome to attend, but registration is essential.
