Description

In 2013, the Australian Academy of Science identified cloud computing as one of the main enablers of solutions of the Grand Challenges in Computer Science for the next 10-20 years. Nevertheless, applications cannot benefit from cloud capabilities, such as on-demand scaling and elasticity without changes in the way they are designed, implemented, and deployed. At the same time, new resource management techniques in the cloud can help in reducing the effort of application developers to leverage its benefits and at the same time make resource utilisation more efficient.
