Event Name
Art Exhibition: After All
19 March 2019
09:00 am - 05:00 pm
Bankstown Campus

Address (Room): Margot Hardy Gallery, Building 23

The teachers involved in this exhibition prove that they are not solely educators but also practitioners within their field, using their knowledge and expertise to create artworks of their own: “After all, we are all practicing artists”. Working across their specialist media, from painting and photography to printmaking and ceramics, they draw inspiration from the world around them in sentimental, commemorative and highly subjective points of view. As practicing artists, the teachers aim to develop relationships with those in the art field and through various avenues, bringing back knowledge and expertise to share with their colleagues and the students in their classrooms. By using the knowledge and skills they have learnt from one another to inform their teaching practice, they are engaging in a professional development that is collaborative, respectful and innovatory. “Without collaboration our growth is limited to our own perspectives” is an ethos that these teachers uphold to ensure that they are keeping up with the changing world, across the realms of art and education.
