Description

Mouse or Rat? The difference is subtle but significant. How did cultural exchanges and bilateral relations develop between Australia and China in the early years? You are invited to join us in celebrating the Lunar New Year and the extraordinary career of Jocelyn Chey, the first Cultural Counsellor in the Australian Embassy in Beijing, through the launch of the second edition and Chinese translation of her memoir Lodestar China, in which she reveals “under the leadership of Ambassador Stephen FitzGerald, we drank more than we should have done in those days during official functions”. Find out why and many more stories in her conversation with Stephen FitzGerald, the first Ambassador to China. The celebrated Chinese Australian comedian Jennifer Wong will take the celebration to another level along with the budding musicians. Artist Heli and colour stylist Sally will bring more fun to the crowd. Don’t miss out on the good fortune that will be brought by the Mouse… or the Rat.
