Craig McNamara

Craig McNamara Craig is the Senior Engineering Technician (FACE) overseeing the eucalypt forest free air carbon dioxide enrichment (EucFACE) facility and provides specialised technical support to achieve the objectives of research within the context of FACE and the research site. He is directly responsible for the maintenance and analysis of FACE operations as well as the maintenance of a wide range of environmental sensor systems and associated digital data collection devices at the FACE field site.

Craig graduated from the Limerick Institute of Technology where he studied Electronics and Computer Engineering. Craig then worked as a Senior Maintenance Technician at Analog Devices, a global leader in the semiconductor manufacturing industry, before moving to Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensures the smooth operation of a broad range of equipment and experiments at the EucFACE site
  • Responsible for co-ordination, documentation, and delivery of expert scientific and technical support, associated with all aspects of field experiments, to academic staff, students and visiting researchers
  • Monitoring and scheduling access to the site by staff, students and visitors, conducting OH&S training, and organising schedules for measurement/sampling campaigns
