The Australasian Bat Society is proud to announce that its 18th biennial conference and Annual General Meeting will be held in Richmond at Western Sydney University's Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment.
As usual, we anticipate an exciting program of spoken and poster presentations on a wide range of bat-related topics to be presented by researchers, consultants, educators, wildlife carers and other bat enthusiasts from across the Australasian region.
The conference will be preceded by a half-day forum entitled 'Sydney bats: hidden treasures and flying icons'. This forum will focus on the fascinating bats of the Sydney area and will aim to appeal to a wider public audience as well as ABS members.
Latest results and ideas will be presented on both microbats and flying-foxes by leading researchers, with an emphasis given to practical guidance for land managers and those who just want to know more about these secretive mammals.
The formal conference program, coupled with an invigorating mix of social events, field sessions and informal discussions, will captivate and inform delegates about the latest information and news relating to bat conservation.
Located at the foot of the Blue Mountains, the venue is easily accessible by public transport (trains and buses).
Join us, and enjoy the natural beauty that Western Sydney and the nearby Blue Mountains has to offer.
