What is CrossFit?
Constantly varied functional movements performed at a high intensity.
What does it allow us to do ?
It allows us to move large loads, long distances, quickly!
How is it done?
Through the use of three training disciplines:
- Metabolic conditioning: the body's ability to break down food and use it as an energy source. Through the use of metabolic equipment such as bike, rower, skipping and running.
- Gymnastics: how well we can move our own bodies through a range of motion with no external force application, e.g. push ups, sit up, jumping, pull ups, lunges to name a few.
- Weightlifting: our ability to move external forces through a range of motion. Be it a barbell, medicine ball, kettlebell, dumbbell for a few examples
We keep workouts short and intense for greatest results.
Using these three disciplines we create as much variety as possible to create a buffer against illness and disease and create ourselves longevity in life, ease in everyday life, mental fortitude and physical application to increase body composition and decrease body fat.
Who is it for?
ANYONE AND EVERYONE. CrossFit has no type of participant… it has every type of participant. Big, small, old, young, tall, short, fit , unfit. Everyone’s goals differ by degree not by kind. Everyone wants to be able to get through life with ease and with longevity.
Don’t be scared to try - be scared of missing out.
