December graduations

Who is eligible to participate in December?

December graduation ceremonies are the smallest round of ceremonies at the University. The December graduation round is for selected cohorts. If your cohort is selected to participate in the December graduation round, and you believe you may be a potential graduand.  You will find information on our website early October advising what awards will be participating, if your award is participating you can register through MySR (via your MyWestern Central student portal www.westernsydney.edu.au/mywestern).

IMPORTANT: December timelines are extremely tight and many occur prior to you receiving your results.  If your award is included and you register for December you are confirming you are aware of and accept the below conditions.  If you do not accept these conditions do not apply for December, please register for a future round.

  • Please check your MySR, if your award appears with the option to select December you are able to apply
  • If your student record is not finalised by the advertised timelines, you will be declined (please do not request special consideration)
  • If you are an honours student studying in Spring Session.  You are unable to be assessed for eligibility. The timeline does not allow the required processing or appeals period.
  • Ceremony details are available 1 week prior to ceremonies – not enough notice, apply for a future round
  • All details are to be finalised as per timelines and prior to receiving eligibility / ceremony details  (including payment)
  • If you are deemed not eligible you will be moved to the next round, if you are eligible you will graduate in December (if you have not deferred in writing prior to the advertised deadlines)
  • Double degree with Bachelor of Laws – you will only be assessed if you have already graduated from the first component of your double degree or you are eligible to graduate from both components. For example, if you are graduating from Bachelor of Business and Commerce/Bachelor of Laws, then you will need to have graduated from the Business component in a previous graduation round to enable you to graduate from your Law component in the December ceremonies or you have completed both components and will graduate from both awards.  Only Law double degrees are considered for December with the above conditions, no other Bachelor double degree awards are included in December.

Due to the short turnaround times, confirmation of eligibility and ceremony details are available 1 week before ceremonies (it is not possible to provide this information earlier). If this is too short notice for you, please register and/or defer (as per deadlines) to April 2019 graduation round.

If you meet the criteria and wish to register to graduate in December, follow the instructions on Register to graduate page.

Please make note of the December graduation deadlines on the Graduation deadlines page.
