Western Sydney University Postgraduate Research Awards

Western Sydney University Postgraduate Research Awards are for full-time study towards higher degrees by research and are funded by Western Sydney University. Competition for the awards scheme is intense; only eligible applicants with qualifications equivalent to an Australian Bachelor Honours, First Class degree and demonstrated research output will be offered an award.

The Western Sydney University Postgraduate Research Awards include two components:

  • A living allowance scholarship of AUD$25,392 per annum for up to 3 years for doctoral level study and 2 years for Masters Honours.
  • Tuition fee scholarship for up to six academic sessions for doctoral level study and 4 academic sessions for Masters Honours, that is tuition fees will be waived. If you are unable to complete your studies within the scholarship timeframe, you may be charged tuition fees for any further periods of enrolment.

The award does not provide for other fees charged by the University from time to time including the Student Service and Amenities Fee.

Students who have or are applying to commence a new research degree and do not already hold an equivalent degree are eligible to apply. Applicants for coursework awards are not eligible to apply, even where there is a research component in the degree.

Current AusAID students are ineligible.
