In detail, describe the activity Example provided

It is proposed to offer a virtual project for 20 students to participate in company research and workshops. The Western Alliance Consortium have worked with our in-country partner in China (Pagoda Projects) to establish true to life scenarios that would benefit from research and analysis. This includes representation from both the Private and Public Sector, from local start-ups to multinationals. These scenarios will be broken down into ‘Problems’ and ‘Opportunities’, the former will be defined by an established challenge i.e. “Our phone case brand in Australia is poorly received in comparison to other markets.” The latter may consist of a scoping i.e. “We are looking into expanding our destinations to launch our phone case product and want to identify which market and e-commerce platform presents the best opportunity for our existing brand and image”. Students will work in groups of up to four people with their Company Advisor to define, analyse and ultimately present the outcomes of their research. There will be a large focus on cultural fluency running in parallel to the research project and each participant benefits from being paired with a local student, acting as a ‘Cultural Mentor’ with whom assigned weekly topics shall be discussed. The program is complimented by access to online courses on Cultural Fluency, Digital Competency and Employability as well as high-quality live events delivered weekly featuring experienced and engaging representatives from the host locations. Students check-in each week via a purpose-build app to report back on both their research projects and complete their ‘Cultural Journals’. Programme Elements includes Dedicated Company Advisor, a Cultural Mentor Programme, Skills Courses (Employability, Cultural Fluency, Digital Competency), and live, weekly, online events delivered by globally based SMEs. COSTINGS At present there are 10 NCP grants available valued at $3,000 per (total: $30,000). The cost of the online program will be approximately $1500. Therefore, we request the ability for 20 students to participate in the 6-7week, receiving a grant of $1,500 each (Total: $30,000). The grant will cover for the delivery of the project online by Pagoda Projects in China. This will include Administration/applications, onboarding and Company liaison support; Ongoing personalised support, weekly check-ins and individual assistance; Marketing/sourcing, administrative costs, adaptation to remote and ongoing host institution engagement; Cloud system costs: Podio (back-end system, Bespoke App (Padoq) per user and ongoing fees; Events: Speaker fees, cultural session planning and arrangement; Cultural Mentor: Marketing/promotion costs with foreign universities/ other institutions & Cultural Mentor compensation.
