About the Journal
Global Media Journal (GMJ) is an international network of independent, peer-reviewed journals that explore media, communication and culture from around the world. Since the first edition was published in 2002, the network has grown to include journals hosted by universities and academic institutions across multiple countries, each reflecting the unique perspectives and priorities of its region.
While every journal has its own focus, all share a common goal: to encourage thoughtful, high-quality research that helps us better understand media, society and culture in the wake of globalisation. Together, the GMJ network brings people and ideas together, creating a space to share relevant research and start diverse conversations.
GMJ includes topics on:
- emerging technologies
- digital cultures
- creative industries
- journalism
- public communication
- the relationship between media and everyday life.
The Australian edition is a part of this global network, sharing local perspectives in global conversations.
You can submit articles, research papers, reviews and book suggestions for consideration by sending a submission.
