Be the breakthrough

You will build on and integrate skills through online and face-to-face teaching over a two-year program.

The program will enable you to examine current rural health policy, develop models of care that support a rural generalist approach and become skilled in managing undifferentiated, common and emergency clinical presentations in rural settings. You will also become proficient in research skills, enabling ongoing research in rural communities.

Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree in science, health, nursing or midwifery.

Professional accreditation

The Rural Generalism curriculum has been acknowledged by both General Practice Colleges (RACGP and ACRRM) and is recognised as a training component for General Practice training pathway and ultimately Fellowship.

This course is only available to domestic students. Unfortunately, student visa holders are not eligible to study this degree.

*The tuition fees quoted above are the fees for the normal full-time study load of the course (80 credit points) per annum. International students will be subject to a variable fee regime; i.e. enrolled students will be required to pay fees during their course based on the approved fee for each calendar year. Fee changes (if any) will occur at 1 January each calendar year. Students who extend their course past the normal finish date of the course will be required to pay additional fees based on the prevailing fee level. Western Sydney University is a multi-campus institution.
