The Graduate Certificate in Rural Generalism enhances rural generalist medical training by providing additional clinical and research skills to post graduate health professionals entering rural practice.
You will build on and integrate skills through online teaching over a 6 month full-time equivalent program.
This course is not available in 2021. However, if Medicine is your passion, you should apply for one of our related Medicine degrees.

Our Postgraduate Information Sessions are an opportunity to find out about courses from professional and academic staff and have all your questions answered. These online sessions will give you a better understanding of course content and delivery, what to expect from postgraduate study as well as career outcomes.

The program will enable you to examine current rural health policy, develop models of care that support a rural generalist approach and become skilled in managing undifferentiated, common and emergency clinical presentations in rural settings.
You will also be introduced to research skills that will assist research in their rural communities.
Fees and delivery
This course is only available to domestic students. Unfortunately, student visa holders are not eligible to study this degree.
The course will seek to be recognised by both The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and The Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM) as contributing to aspects of their fellowship training programs for vocational registration.

*The tuition fees quoted above are the fees for the normal full-time study load of the course (80 credit points) per annum. International students will be subject to a variable fee regime; i.e. enrolled students will be required to pay fees during their course based on the approved fee for each calendar year. Students who extend their course past the normal finish date of the course will be required to pay additional fees based on the prevailing fee level.
