The Paramedicine Team have developed a nationally recognised, student-centred program with a high enrolment demand. The Team have established successful partnerships offering local and international industry placements to students and aligns with Western’s Securing Success Strategy. The team’s ongoing focus on benchmarking and evaluation, combined with their commitment to engaging students in research through their establishment of the Undergraduate Paramedicine Student Research Academy (UPSTREAM), is evidence of the team's continuing efforts to facilitate a high-quality program that actively engages students in practical and research-based activities.

Jacki Montgomery, Lecturer, School of Humanities and Communication Arts

Jacki Montgomery

Jacki has undertaken innovative work that has led to redeveloping the University’s Advertising program over the past five years within the School. She has embraced the partnership pedagogy principles of the 21C Project, creating strong partnerships with multiple external agencies to provide industry-based assessments and internship opportunities to students. Ms Montgomery’s passion for enhancing student learning and capacity for facilitating  partnerships with local community organisations and businesses aligns strongly with Western’s ongoing ambition to being a distinctly student-led anchor institution for the Greater Western Sydney Region.

Nikki Meller, Lecturer, School of Nursing and Midwifery

Nikki has demonstrated a passion and commitment to student learning, which reflects her desire to ensure that nursing students successfully transition from undergraduate study to graduate practice. Her work in fostering new partnerships to provide employment-based experiences for final year students aligns with Western’s Securing Success strategies around the development of programs to promote industry engagement and career readiness.
