Excellence as an Early Career Researcher

Winner

Dr Gregory Cohen, Postdoctoral Research Fellow, MARCS Institute

Dr Cohen's research into the use of event-based neuromorphic cameras for space imaging tasks offers a new and innovative means of tracking space debris and satellites in orbit. These tasks are critical for space traffic management and space situational awareness – both of which are pressing needs made critical as use and commercialisation of space increases. His work has been enthusiastically received and supported by both the Royal Australian Air Force and the United States Air Force, with both funding the development and further exploration of this new imaging paradigm.
