As part of the Year of Success through Diversity, Equity and Diversity hosted three dinners in Greater Western Sydney (GWS) to celebrate the Vietnamese, Chinese and Indian communities. The main objective of the dinners was to strengthen the link between the University and these communities as well as provide an opportunity for cultural exchange between the University and the targeted Culturally And Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities.
The dinners provided an opportunity for community members to meet key people from UWS, find out what UWS has to offer and why UWS is the university of choice for GWS. It was also an opportunity for UWS staff and students to learn about the Vietnamese, Chinese and Indian culture and community in GWS.
For more information about the dinners please contact Equity and Diversity.
On Friday, 26 July 2013, the University of Western Sydney hosted a special dinner for over 200 guests to celebrate and honour its strong bond with the local Vietnamese community.
On Friday, 20 September 2013, hundreds of members of the Chinese community have gathered in Parramatta for a special dinner organised by the University of Western Sydney to celebrate the immense contribution they make to student and academic life.
The University of Western Sydney has celebrated the remarkable contribution Indian students make to the University with a special community dinner on Friday, 15 November 2013.
