Corporate & Social Responsibility
As societal expectations around climate and nature action continue to evolve rapidly, Western recognises the growing challenges of greenwashing and the need for approaches that align with principles of a just transition. Our commitment is to remain agile and engaged, while ensuring our actions are ethically sound and future-focused.
To guide our journey, we are strengthening key principles across our operations:
- Living Labs utilising or environmental assets and developing methodologies as resources for teaching, research and engagement (link to Living Labs)
- Ethical practices that reflect integrity and transparency particularly around offsetting.
- Circular economy approaches in the design of products and services so that materials and energy can be reclaimed and re-used, ideally in higher value uses
- Supply and Value chain that broaden perspective of climate, nature and other social issues beyond Western’s boundaries to include supply chains, tenants, and investments.
- Compliance and reporting to meet emerging compliance and reporting standards.
