As societal expectations around climate and nature action continue to evolve rapidly, Western recognises the growing challenges of greenwashing and the need for approaches that align with principles of a just transition. Our commitment is to remain agile and engaged, while ensuring our actions are ethically sound and future-focused.

To guide our journey, we are strengthening key principles across our operations:

• Living Labs utilising or environmental assets and developing methodologies as resources for teaching, research and engagement (link to Living Labs)
• Ethical practices that reflect integrity and transparency particularly around offsetting.
• Circular economy approaches in the design of products and services so that materials and energy can be reclaimed and re-used, ideally in higher value uses
• Supply and Value chain that broaden perspective of climate, nature and other social issues beyond Western’s boundaries to include supply chains, tenants, and investments.
• Compliance and reporting to meet emerging compliance and reporting standards.
